Welcome to Utah Judicial Bypass Project
Utah Judicial Bypass Project is here to help you navigate court proceedings if you are seeking to access safe, comprehensive, and supportive abortion services. We recognize that involving parents in every case may not be the best option, and we're here to connect minors seeking a judicial bypass with free experienced, judgment-free attorneys.

Abortion care remains available in Utah. On July 11, 2022, a Utah court granted a preliminary injunction blocking enforcement of S.B. 174, the "trigger" law. On May 2, 2023, a Utah court blocked enforcement of another abortion law known as the "clinic ban". On August 1, 2024, the Utah Supreme Court rejected Utah’s request to overturn the preliminary injunction blocking SB 174, the state’s abortion Trigger ban, from taking effect. This decision means abortion care is legal in Utah up to 18 weeks and available at Utah outpatient clinics while the case continues in the courts.
